Marina @ Keppel Bay - Privé

Keppel Bay - Privé

Located on an island not far away from Habourfront and Sentosa, is Marina @ Keppel Bay, an island of its own that has 168 berths which can accommodate super yachts of up to 280 feet. It also has its very own eateries which make it a nice getaway from city life. I had the opportunity to visit this nice place when I was meeting up with a friend, who happened to stay nearby (at the Caribbean @ Keppel Bay Condominium).

According to the website, the Marina features a modern reticulated vacuum sewer pump-out system, the first in Singapore. Berths for super yachts have a dedicated pump-out connection each, while a common pump-out point near to the fuel dock services other yacht. The view of yachts lining up and the nice sea view is something that is rare to find in Singapore.

I had the privilege of dining at the Privé’s outdoor café and was seated in the outdoors no less. I had the meatball spaghetti, while my friend had the chicken mango wrap. Prices are not cheap, as to be expected of a place like this I guess. The meatball spaghetti was about S$22 while the wrap was about $20++.

The spaghetti that I had wasn’t particularly fantastic (I have had better), it was kind of blend actually and I think the spaghetti was slightly overcooked to my liking. But my friend’s wrap looked nice. Service was so-so, depending on who was the waiter I guess. There was a waitress who was attentive and took our orders, even filling our cups with water. Then there was a waiter who was slightly blur when we said we wanted to move indoors as it was starting to drizzle. He just stared at us blankly, and when we left to head for a sheltered seat having to take out half-eaten food with us he started clearing the table that we had left.

Overall, Privé’s outdoor café has pricy drinks and food but fantastic view. It would be better if the service was top notch to enhance the experience and match its surroundings.
