Holiday Creativity with Canon Pixma Workshop

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a workshop (thanks to Canon and omy.sg!) where I got to learn how to create my very own passport holder and luggage tag using the Canon printer, some stationary and lots of creativity were involved! Majority of the participants were parents with kids, while the minorities were my new blogger friends.

With the table already laid-out with the handcrafts we were going to use (e.g. scissors, tape, glue, ribbons and paper with a mini-manual to boot), it was a fun-filled afternoon of artsy crafting - cutting and pasting decorative paper printed using the Cannon printer (there are some pretty designs).

All set for the workshop to begin!
Now I don’t really consider myself an artsy person, but I was pretty happy with the passport holder. As for the luggage tag, hey at least I tried (and it should be usable too). The blogger hosts were fantastic with the children, getting them to do as told and participate. Whilst the children and parents’ seemed to have no problems getting the hang of the crafting, us ‘big’ kids at the bloggers’ table were a little slow on the uptake, but we somehow managed in the end with all the creativity we had within us.

It was a little challenging but fun nonetheless ^^ It turned out pretty nice.

Luggage tag or bookark? ha Well, at least I tried :p

Through this workshop, I not only learnt about what Canon Pixma printers can do but also discovered the wonders of Canon Creative Park and Canon Pixma Town which have many cool (and free) templates for the Canon Pixma printer; personalization has never been easier! I never realized (ok, I was a tad lazy because it was never that easy personalizing something, or maybe it was just me), that so much could be done - goes to show how long it’s been since I actually ‘made’ sometime)! From the usual greeting cards and printing of photos, now you can go a step further with origami, personalized scrap-booking and calendars, 3-D greeting cards/postcards etc…

Now armed with my own Canon Pixma MG3170 I am going to discover and create a quite a few things, so please stay tuned for my upcoming creations.... ^^
