Park Inn by Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island: Superior Twin Room Review

Park Inn by Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island Overview > Superior Twin Room Review

Check-in was fast enough by polite but tired staff, and we were promptly handed the key (cards) to our room on the second floor. Being a 3-star property, the room that we had at Park inn By Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island was clean and spacious enough for the 5 nights we were there. The bright primary colors used to decorate the room gave it (and corridors) a cheery ambience, albeit a moderate budget ‘feels’ to it.
Park Inn by Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island:
The theme for the second floor and the room was bright red.

In the room, not only were the shades red, but there was a whole wall painted in red which gave the room a very modern (albeit budget) resort like ambience.

The room was spacious enough and the furnishings still moderately quite new (no visible wear yet).

The overview of the room with the luggage stand, balcony, TV and beds etc...
Our room had a balcony which partially faced the pool and tennis court.
Note: the room is fully carpeted, so those with a sensitive nose take note.
While the bed was clean and comfortable, it felt a little worn-out, either that or the springs were too soft for my liking (i.e. not firm enough). As for the pillows, they do have a pillow menu for you to select from if I remember correctly, but the two pillows that were provided were sufficient for me.

What I do not understand is the design of the headboard – mood lighting aside, why on earth would the power point be placed at the area where you lay your head to sleep?

The lighting in the room has to be one of the dimmest I have ever experienced in a hotel room and one of the major dislikes about the room. It would have been better if the room lights (at least one of them) were as bright as the bathroom lights.

The in-room menu, TV, complimentary bottles of water and the (chargeable) mini bar (there is a mini fridge too).

The bathroom was basic, but it was clean and spacious (enough). The shower had good water pressure and there were some complimentary basic toiletries provided as well. However, as it is a 3-star hotel, you might want to bring your own shower cream and shampoo instead of using the one provided by the hotel. The hotel provides a 2-in-1 shower cream/shampoo for you to use from a dispenser attached to the wall (very dormitory style).

When we had checked in to the room, a housefly (they have a few of those in Abu Dhabi) had actually made its way into the bathroom. A call to housekeeping for some pesticide actually sent up a guy who single-handedly swatted the housefly and brought it out of the bathroom (triumphantly I might add)!

Note: There are no in-room slippers so it would be wise to bring your own, and there is also no safety deposit box within the room so keep your valuables safe!

In-room Wi-Fi was provided in the rate, however, it was spotty and dropped quite a few times: each time we left the room and moved throughout the hotel (e.g. when at the Mint for breakfast or at the lift lobby), the connection is not stable and is intermittent. Moreover, you can only log onto the Wi-Fi 1 device at a time, so if you have more than 1 device, you would have to log out and log-in again each and every time.

Conclusion: It is reasonable and affordable, even if breakfast has to be added onto the rate. Service rendered was acceptable, staffs were polite and respectful (as they could be) but they seemed to be overworked (i.e. tired/listless). But for the price and location, it is quite a steal. The amenities and ambience are basic, but the location of Park Inn by Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island is quite ideal to the nearby attractions (e.g. Yas Beach, Yas Mall, Marina Mall, Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World amusement park etc…) if you are in Abu Dhabi for a holiday. If you are in Abu Dhabi for business, especially in Masdar City, than the location of Park Inn by Radisson Abu Dhabi Yas Island and its rate is one of the most ideal if you are on a budget.
