Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok (previously Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel) - Bangkok

The Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok (previously Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel) is centrally located, within walking distance to/from the train station and a short walk to the sky train. It is an idea location for business. However, despite being centrally located, the hotel is not in a convenient location if you want shopping and to visit tourist attractions: it is too far to walk to the shopping malls, yet not worth taking a taxi as the shopping malls are nearby; it does not help that the hotel is located on a one way road and there is no defined pedestrian walkway to the hotel (limiting its accessibility).

Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok’s (previously Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel) exterior is slightly dated. However, one redeeming feature about the hotel is its huge swimming pool decorated with flora and fauna, giving it a garden feel. I stayed in the standard room, which was comfortable and spacious.

Amenities (bathroom and the usual 2 complimentary bottles of water which were replenished daily) were adequate, but the room was starting to saw its age – certain areas of the room were tired (e.g. worn carpets and furniture). Cleanliness was not an issue, but there were no outstanding features either.

You would think that if the hotel was positioning itself as a business hotel, services such as wifi / Internet connection would be bundle (or at least complimentary) for sending out business emails etc… Unfortunately that is not the case, wifi access is charged at either per hour or per day, not a very business friendly model.

The nicest part of the room would have to be the bathroom, which had a minimalist contemporary look with its black and white theme. There was a bathtub as well as a shower area, which contained a hand-held shower-head with two settings but the water pressure could have been better.

The use of dark wood for the wardrobe seemed to clash with the rest of the room’s contemporary look that I think the hotel was trying to aim for.

Service was inconsistent: many an occasion the housekeeping crew entered our room without bothering to check if we were in the room. Overall, I feel that it could have been better.
