Nihon Mura (日本村)

There are several outlets of Nihon Mura (日本村) in Singapore, a Japanese restaurant with an interesting and innovative method of ordering your food… with ice-cream sticks. I have only been to the one at Kallang Leisure Park, and the one at Downtown East. So far the food was fresh enough and the price reasonable. Though it has a reputation for its buffet, I haven’t tried it yet. More at its website

Ordering is a fun affair, and scary if you are not counting those sticks! You get to choose your menu items that are printed on the ice-cream sticks, placing them in a container. When you are done choosing your items, just hand the container to the staff and they will process your order. To get your sushi, just head to the conveyer belt placed at the center and pick out what you like back to your table. Service so has been reasonably good, so no complains about it.

Nihon Mura (日本村) is/was known for its S$0.99 sushi,  I think the price has increased to $1.19, but overall it is still relatively cheap sushi you can find in Singapore. The experience of ordering with ice-cream sticks and affordable sushi make it worth to try it at least once!
