<< Jusangjeollidae (주상절리대)
After viewing the
Jusangjeollidae (주상절리대), we made our way to the next destination:
Andeok Valley (
안덕계곡).
Andeok Valley (
안덕계곡) is located east of
Hwasun-ri and is apparently the most beautiful valley in
Jeju. Each cliff in the valley is different, and with tall trees surrounding the area, it makes a picturesque scenery.

Once we arrived (not too far off from the entrance), we had to walk a little (uphill) before we arrived. There was a path (with bridge and all) that brought us to the bottom of the valley, where was reflective pools of crystal clear water. With the sunlight peeking through the valley, the whole ambiance was serene yet somewhat mystical and beautiful.

Rock formations |
Once we made our way through this fascinating valley, we came across a stone well and a cave (Rock Shade Residence) formed from volcanic lava and cannot be found on the mainland.
|
This Rock Shade Residence used to be used as a residence by the previous inhabitants of Jeju. It is 6.5m wide and 2.8m high at the entrance. From the entrance to the end, it is 3.4m deep. |

On the way out, the cliffs that we passed by had angular shapes and were remarkably similar to the columnar
jointed rock formations (Jusangjeollidae) that we had just seen before coming to
Andeok Valley (
안덕계곡).

A harubang |
The next stop was a temple (can't really remember the name) with a fantastic sea (over)view!
