After all that food, I finally understand what it means to be in a food 'coma'. We were almost at our threshold and had only passed the halfway mark. It was a wonderful relieve to know that we would be taking a break from the savory to go on to... DESSERTS! Now I know I said I am not much of a dessert person, but if its good and I like it, so I guess I am more of an occasional selective dessert person. :p
If you are wondering what this food trail is about, it is a food trail organized by omy.sg and food establishments in Bugis Junction, which explores food establishments located in Bugis Junction. If you want to know all the establishments that were visited, please click here.
At this juncture, the thought of having dessert after all that savory food was a relief and something everyone was looking forward too. It was a nice break, before we went on to the savory foods again. So we were at nydc (which also has main dishes etc... but we were there) for the desserts, cakes to be exact. ^^

Pretty menu! All that red and pinkish hues... :) |
I hereby present you with the CAKES:
Boo Boo* Cake
Cake with piped swirls of light whipped cream. A whole Boo Boo cake costs S$62 |
All that chocolate! One slice costs S$6.80 |
Thoughts: Essentially it is a chocolate cake, but without that 'guilty heaviness' you get from eating a rich chocolate cake. Its sweetness is just nice, not overly sweet with a light chocolately taste. The whole cake looks pretty with its chocolate coating and swirls of whipped cream. And when the description says that it's light cream, it's really light. :)
Goldmine Cheesecake
Ally’s New York Cheesecake with chocolate chunks, slathered with irresistible chocolate fudge topping, and an Oreo cookie base. The whole cake costs S$68 |
While a slice of this cheesecake costs S7.20 |
Thoughts: While I wasn't taken with this, many of the bloggers adored this cheesecake, with its chocolate chunks sauntered with chocolate fudge and solid Oreo cookie base that gave the New York cheesecake an interesting texture and chocolately/Oreo flavor.
Thoughts: It's a mudpie, it's a cake, it's ice-cream! This I love (alot). It was a mudpie, or in this case an ice-cream cake (to me) with 3 layers (hence the suggestive name) of chocolate chip cookie dough (love), strawberry (love) and graham crackers (and love). When all 3 are combined, its strawberry chewy and gooey texture is something I enjoyed more than the Boo Boo or the Jedi Mudster (below). At S$11.80 per slice, it is a little pricy, but totally worth it. I would definitely have this again for that special treat occasionally!
Thoughts: This mudpie, full of its nutty chocolate goodness, was a hit with majority of the bloggers (since majority are chocolate lovers). It was nice, being an ice-cream cake and all, but I like the 3-some better.
3-some* Mudpie
It’s ménage à trois of the guilt-free kind! Get wild and gooey while sandwiched between 3 layers of chocolate chip cookie dough, strawberry and strawberry cheesecake ice creams and graham crackers. |
Jedi Mudster (Mudpie)
Double Chocolate Chip & Macadamia Nut ice-cream on an Oreo base with homemade cookie chunks. Complete with chocolate fudge & whipped cream. |
