7th Stop: Fish & Co (Bugis Junction)

After the satisfying dessert session at nydc, it was back to the savory foods and the seventh stop on the list was Fish & Co. This stop was the most intensive as it was the one with the most items (9 of them!) to try (or maybe it's just me). It might be just food tasting but those small mouthfuls do add up!

If you are wondering what this food trail is about, it is a food trail organized by omy.sg and food establishments in Bugis Junction, which explores food establishments located in Bugis Junction. If you want to know all the establishments that were visited, please click here.

The uniqueness of Fish & Co is that it serves all its (sea)food Mediterranean style - in a pan. Fish & Co. serves up everything that lives in the sea – fishes (check), prawns (check), crabs (check), scallops, mussels and all other edible shelled crustaceans (checked). So it comes to no surprise that the restaurant has a sea-like environment and the servers wearing blue. It has been some time since I last visited Fish & Co., so it was nice to know that there are new dishes and a magazine-like revamped menu that certainly “catches” your attention (and appetite)!

The staple must-have sauces - chili, mayo and garlic!

Soft Shell Crab Salad*

Soft Shell Crab Salad
Nice soft shell crab that was the main star of the salad. It was nice soft, yet crunchy and moist, with a tinge of saltiness to go with the salad.

Clams with Curry Butter*

Bombay Fish & Chips

Encased in a curried batter, this was nice; definitely something different from normal fish and chips.

Black Pepper Baked Rice

and after - despite being black pepper based, I found it to be a little too salty. But maybe it was just me, as those who loved it raved about its peppery taste.

Grilled Peri Peri Chicken with Scallops*

Grilled Peri Peri Chicken with Scallops
Chicken grilled perfectly, moist and tender with per peri flavor and fresh scallops along with (wonderful) mashed potato on the side.

Shrimp & Clams Aglio Olio*

Shrimp & Clams Aglio Olio
I love spaghetti (ok so I love a lot of things…), and with (fresh) shrimp clams aglio olio style, it was wonderful.

Not sure what to get? Then you can get this! With fish, prawns, rice, fries and mussels/clams, it’s the perfect dish for sharing.

Grilled Fish with Ebiko (seasonal menu, launched 15 April 2013)

Grilled Fish with Ebiko
The grilled fish was really delectable: moist and tender and well (ebiko) flavored while retaining its fish origins.
