Itinerary > Grand View Resort Beitou / Hot Springs / Lunch
After the enjoyable and relaxing hot springs, we got hungry and decided to lunch at
Grand View Resort Beitou's French restaurant,
C' est Bon. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and were seated next to the window, facing the mountains and greenery. The semi-open kitchen was also in view, allowing the visual enjoyment of seeing the chef prepare the food.

DramaQueen was planning to eat noodles (ramen) at a famous stall in
Xinbeitou so she opted for the
Light Food Set which cost NT$680+10%, while I went for the
Lunch Set which cost NT$980+10%. There was complimentary bread (as with all French meals and the folded napkins in the shape of a suit were just adorable!

Cream of Pumpkin Soup with Crab Salsa: The soup was simply delicious and creamy, the bits of crab and pumpkin sprinkled with sunflower seeds give it more texture and added flavor. |

|
Rustic Vegetable Soup with Parma ham: This is one of the most flavorful vegetable soup that I have tasted (yes, I pinched some). |
|
Pan-Fried Quail with Creamy Risotto, Chicken Jus: According to DramaQueen, it was the best she had. She simply loved the creaminess of the risotto which went well with the quail and chicken. The meat was done just nice, not dry nor hard. |

Chéf Special Homemade Dessert: The dessert was simply a delight and a nice touch to end off the meal. |
The total bill come to
NT$1660, which I think was reasonable (unless you are on a really tight budget). Service was prompt and efficient, and the waiters/waitresses politely asked each time to clear the plates from the table when each dish was done. When it came to payment time, the waiter returned with the change presented tastefully in an envelope together with the bill.
