Day Trip to Universal Studios Japan (Osaka) Part III: The Food and Mascots

Getting to Universal Studios Japan > Universal Studios Japan (Osaka) Overview > The Rides and Shows > The Mascots

Although food in a theme park can be pricey, what is a trip to one without indulging a little right? 😁 We might have missed out on the butter beer at the Harry Potter World, but that doesn't mean that it's the end of the world you know. There is after all, always next time.

Lunch ended up consisting of snacks throughout the day – turkey leg, popcorn, churros, hot dog buns etc… I guess that is where the money we saved on the fast pass went to. 😂

After taking a look see at the Harry Potter World, we made our way to take the Jaws ride at Amity Harbor. [More about the rides we took at Universal Studios here]

Done with the 'harrowing' water ride, we were feeling a tad peckish when we arrived at Jurassic Park. Ok, actually we were lured to Jurassic Park because almost everyone we saw was walking around with giant legs of turkey that looked yummy.

Craving satisfied! The turkey drumstick is big! 😋 850¥ per leg might be a little pricey, but it's a theme park after all...

After we were done with the rides at Jurassic Park, we rested a bit before heading off to our next destination: New York. [More about the rides we took at Universal Studios here]

After taking the rides, we took a breather and came by a little corner that was near the water and gave a pretty good view of the park. [More about the rides we took at Universal Studios here]

After a ride or two more, and lots of souvenir shopping later it was time for dinner. But not before encountering the many mascots roaming the theme park that day, from Hello Kitty to Cookie Monster and Elmo, to the Minions!

Mascots Galore! 😍😍😍

The culture of taking a photo with the mascots if really one a first-come-first-serve-grab-the-mascot-attention kind of thing: there was not queue formed, but whoever that was interested in taking the photo with the mascots would approach them viola -pose and photo is taken. Seems easy enough right? Not so much is you are not assertive enough or shy (i.e. not super hyped up enthusiastic), because the more enthusiastic ones would always get the attention of the mascots. But we managed to take a couple of photos with the Minions eventually because there was a queue!

Dinner was at the Minion Plaza for a Minion themed dinner.

A Minion themed dinner. It wasn't that bad.
