This trip around, like the first time I went to Bangkok, was really mostly shopping, shopping and even more shopping. Since I was staying at Novotel Platinum Pratunam Hotel, which is located at Zone 3 of the Platinum Mall, a visit to Platinum Mall for 3 out of the 4 days I was there was a norm. It was pure bliss being so near the Platinum Mall, not to mention the nearby night market! The only complain I would have would be that the shops in Platinum Mall close way too early: by 730pm the shops are already preparing to close or are already closed for the day, it would have been better if the shop closed at 830pm instead. Closing shop at 730pm is simple too early!
Fortunately there is the night market opposite the Novotel Platinum Pratunam Hotel which starts at about 6pm all the way to 11pm. There were quite a few ‘gems’ at the night market: I managed to get a pretty adorable umbrella for 199 baht and a useful bag at 260 baht for the momsie to carry her tablet around (it was even customized with her name!). DramaQueen even managed to get an adorable haversack bag for just 199 baht. That’s like less than S$10 for the bag which is really cheap. Besides the many items for sale, the street food was just as eye-catching but I gave it a miss this time round.
Since I was so immersed in the sights and sound, ok so I was more immersed on the shopping, do pardon the lack of photos. Hehe
