Kobayashi Taiwan Cookies

Kobayashi Taiwan Cookies

As we were a little too early for the dinner reservation at Hello Kitty Sweets Café, we decided to walk around the vicinity. We were soon attracted by the warm aroma of butter, cream, custard and vanilla of a Kobayashi Store nearby. Kobayashi was founded in 1950 in Taichung County, Taiwan and has outlets in Taipei. The staff were making the bell shaped pancakes in the open and the aroma practically filled the street. It was so tempting that we bought some to try.

The pancakes were nice, soft and fluffy on the outside and creamy on the inside. When served piping hot, the filling of butter, custard and cream simply just bursts and melts in your mouth! We had three pieces.

When we were done with the pancakes, we ended up buying some of the cookies that the store sells as well. There was a lot of variety of cookies to choose form, but we finally settled on two types of assorted cookie gift boxes.
