Bangkok Hotels near everything shopping in Pratunam

 

If you simply adore food and shopping when you are in Bangkok, then you may wish to base yourself in the Pratunam area (where the well-known Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C, Central World Mall and other shopping areas are located, along with night markets and some pretty good food):

1. If your budget allows and/or you want to experience a more luxurious hotel experience, spending some money for a little luxury is well worth it for a 4-5 star hotel within the Pratunam area. You just have to find one that is within your budget and style (newly refurbished / new vs old).
2. If you want to save some money for more shopping and food, there are more economical accommodations available as well.

2. The Period Pratunam
The Period Pratunam is located along the same stretch as Lemontea Hotel. The hotel provides a coffee bar, a 24-hour reception and 24-hour room service. Airport transfers, a laundry service and a dry cleaning service are available on enquiry. From the review, it seems to be quite instagrammable too, and is quite new. The only downside would be that the rooms are a tad small.

3. Ideal Pratunam Boutique Hotel

4. The Posh Phayathai 
The Posh Phayathai is within walking distance of the Jim Thompson House, Platinum Fashion Mall and Pantip Plaza. It is within a 20-minute stroll of Siam BTS Station, which allows easy access in and around Bangkok.  The most surprising thing about Posh Phayathai is that it is a hostel rather than a hotel; a luxury hostel. So it comes with dorm rooms for those who are really looking for something on a backpacker's budget. For those of you who prefer your privacy, there are private rooms that will cater to you. If you are looking for a vibrant social experience to enhance your shopping vacation, this hostel makes a good option, especially with its spacious rooftop terrace and gorgeous rooms.

It is a little out of the way, but if you are looking for late night places to eat at, or massage places to get those tired legs sorted out, this would be your place.

While those who seek something a little more (and can afford it are willing to spend without having to rob a bank):

1. Novotel Platinum Pratunam Hotel
If your main purpose is to shop when you are in Bangkok, than Novotel Platinum Pratunam Hotel is the place to stay: above the new wing of Platinum Fashion Mall and right next to the old wing of Platinum Fashion Mall. Besides Platinum Fashion Mall, it's also within a 5 minute walk to Pantip (selling computer-related stuff), Pratunum Market (open-air market), Central World (modern shopping centre with lots of eateries), Big C (a hypermarket), the Erawan Shrine (the four-faced Buddha) and Siam Paragon (shopping center with IMAX). Surrounding the hotel are plenty of roadside food stalls and stalls selling everything from clothes to accessories to toys.

This hotel can be considered as one of the most convenient hotels within the Pratunam shopping belt - opposite Platinum Fashion Mall and walking distance to Pratunam Market, Palladium Night Market and the new Neon Night Market. Glow Pratunam Hotel is also within walking distance of of Pantip Plaza, Central World Mall, Big C Supermart, Siam Paragon Mall and Siam Square. It is a hotel which can be quite budget-friendly if you book during the right season, otherwise you might be better off booking another hotel within the vicinity.
