Ju Shin Jung East 주신정 (Korean Charcoal Barbeque Restaurant) Entrance |
According to the restaurant's website, there are 3 outlets, one in the East (the one we went to), West, and the last one in Katong. We were here for a family dinner and upon entering the restaurant, the atmosphere was welcoming and homey with the posters, magazines and newspaper that adorned the side table at the entrance. To add to the Korean ambiance, the wall was decorated with autographed photographs of Korean stars.
Autographed Wall! |
The banchan (side dishes) were plentiful and were generally good; they are replenished for free! In addition, the drinks were free flow.
Onion and Seaweed Soup |
Look at that spread! |
Besides the banchan, we had a nice egg omelet that was enough for 4 persons. |
I had the bean curd soup and it is one of my favorites! The spiciness was just nice and complemented the other ingredients such as mushrooms and seafood. It went well with a bowl of rice.
My favorite! |
The next dish would be to be one of the Korean specialties: samgetang (ginseng chicken soup) – must try for Korean fanatics.
Chicken Ginseng Soup! |
To end the meal, we had persimmon juice and watermelon slices cut into adorable hearts for dessert. I would definitely head back here again to try out the other items in the menu!
