While normal earphones with their wire (frequently) constrain movement or get caught up in something, and untangling the wire can be a (painful) hassle, it never really occurred to me how much more enjoyable music can be wire-free. So when I first heard of and received my Plantronics Backbeat GO 2 Wireless Earbuds, the first thing that came to my mind was, “Why didn’t I not think of getting one before? They are a God send!”
Normal earphones have the tendency to get tangled easily, especially when they are not connected to the phone or mp3 player (nicely coiled and/or corded up). It’s a mess having to just rummage through a vast bag, and a torture having to untangle the wire (especially when you are up and about in a crowded place). Even when the wire is nicely (as much as possible) coiled around the phone or coiled inside a case, it is a nightmare having to uncoil it (holding on to both phone and bag) on a crowded moving bus or train.

Pairing the earbuds with any Bluetooth enabled device (e.g. phone or mp3 player) is straight forward and simple to understand. All that is needed is to hold the center button till it says "PAIRING" (of course you have to also turn on the device’s Bluetooth function). Click “Pair” on the device and it will say "Pairing successful”. I paired my iPhone with the earbuds within minutes. It was that easy! *It would be good to note that the earbuds will only register one device at a time. So when you want to pair it with another device, you will have to turn on the pairing mode again.*
With the Plantronics Backbeat GO 2 Wireless Earbuds, the switch between music, videos and calls is a seamless one; all at a touch of a button! While the volume buttons also function as forward / backward buttons to the next or previous track, the power button not only powers up/down the earbuds, but activates the Bluetooth connection and even lets you answer your phone calls. The sound reception is pretty good for phone calls too. Even the charging case doubles up as handy carry case for juicing up those earbuds when its time for a recharge.
What’s more, the music experience is further personalized with different eartips (small, medium, and large eartips) for comfort and optimum music sound (e.g. outside noise effectively blocked out – perfect for drowning out any unwanted noise or being immersed in the music); you just have to find the right fit (once you find you right fit, the eartips are surprisingly comfortable).
After using the Plantronics Backbeat GO 2 Wireless Earbuds for some time now, all I can say is that I simply love it when there is no more messy tangles and not being constrained by wires anymore. Now I can listen to music (or answer/make calls) when I am out and about, traveling on the train, in bus and/or car. Multitasking while listening to music and answer calls (up to 4.5 hours of listening time and 5 hours of talk time) has never been freer and I simply relish it! *Of course it would be better if the earbuds could go on a few more hours (at least 8-9 hours for music?). That way I can listen to music for longer without having any interruption / reminder to recharge, that or falling asleep while studying Korean and waking up to silence. haha*
