The
Youngpoong Bookstore (영풍문고) is one of the biggest bookstore in
Seoul: with 6 branches, as well as an online bookstore, it is certainly paradise for book lovers. The more popular branches are at
Jogno and
Gangnam, which are connected to their respective nearby subway stations, making them easy to find and highly accessible. If you think that there are only books, than be prepared to be amazed as the place also sells gifts, small electronics, stationery and even home décor items. It is also host to recitals, book signings, and literary programs.
During this trip, we decided to visit the
Jongno branch, which is touted as nation’s largest bookstore, boasting a total area of over 10,600 square meters. When we arrived, we were literally in awe of the place: it’s a book paradise of
Korean to
International books, and even children’s books. They have also a customer service center and electronic search program where shoppers can find information on books. But we had our previous Korean teacher with us so she helped us pick a couple of books and flashcards.
