It was that one day when we were going to
Doota at Dongdamun that DramaQueen forgot her
Seoul City Pass Plus, and hence the opportunity (well, it was actually more propulsion since we didn't want to walk back to get the card lol) to use the single journey card. Purchasing the single journey ticket was easy as the ticket vending machines were easily located inside the (
Gongdeok and
Dongdamun) subway stations. Choosing the fare was made simple as the machines offer Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.
Tip: After the trip, don’t forget to return the single journey ticket at the ticket machine to get back that 500 won.

The
Korea Tourism website has very detail instructions on how to purchase and get a refund on the single journey card.
Getting to
Dongdamun to
Gongdeok was relatively easy: just transfer to either line 4 (if you are taking line 6) OR line 2 (if you are taking line 5).
Gongdeok Station being an interchange of sorts offers more than one way to get to
Dongdamun (the power of Google Maps and the subway map).

Whichever the route, the journey took us less than 25 minutes to reach our destination |

Once you exit out of the Dongdamun Station, the sights are sounds are simply overwhelming (in a good shopping way of course heh)! The moment you step out of the station you are assaulted with bags, shirts, accessories, people, food, cafes, shopping malls. It can be a little overwhelming but as long as you know where you want to go and what you want to do, it should be fine.
