Travel Thoughts: Marhaba Lounge at Dubai Airport

After a not so memorable dinner at Ocean Basket there was still some time to kill before we could board our flight. It was also an opportunity to finally use my complimentary Priority Pass which can be used twice a year. The nearest lounge was the Marhaba Lounge located at level 3 with direct access via an elevator.

The lounge also doubles up as a seafood restaurant, which initially threw us off track, thinking that we had entered the wrong place. However, a quick check at the reception and it was confirmed that we were at the right place. The female staff who greeted us was all smiles and very friendly. She patiently explained the facilities and that the time limit was 4 hours.

After producing my Priority Pass card, we were issued passwords for the complimentary WiFi and ordered some drinks to be sent to our table. We chose a nice cozy corner, right next to the massage chairs (which DramaQueen tried and thoroughly enjoyed herself).

It was a slow night and we practically had the whole corner to ourselves, which was nice. The chairs, particularly the sofa like beds were comfortable. The toilet while cleaned and well maintained, however the stalls are limited (about 2?) and I don't want to even imagine when it gets crowded.

It was a quiet night

For beverages, there was quite a list we could choose from. As for food refreshments, there was a range from salads, fruits, sandwiches, cakes and sushi. There was also hot foods such as noodles and rice etc... Although it was simple fare, if you are just there to chill, nibble a little and rest your feet, it really is a nice place to be; especially when it is complimentary. 😁

Overall, a pleasant first time experience at a lounge, and I finally got to use my complimentary Priority Pass! That said, I doubt I would actually pay to use a lounge. Having complimentary access twice a year is fine by me... for now. 😛
