Lunch at the Knolls (Capella Singapore Sentosa’s Mediterranean Restaurant)

The Knolls is Capella Singapore’s Mediterranean restaurant, with friendly service and pleasant setting near the main infinity pool with a nice view of the sea. The Knolls not only serves up Mediterranean dishes but also offers local Singapore fair (e,g. Nasi Goreng, Lasksa etc…) as well. Reservation to the Knolls was a quick call to the service desk by dialing ‘0’ on the hotel room phone. Upon arriving at the Knolls, we decided to sit outdoors to enjoy the scenery and food; a decision I am glad we made.

Service was prompt and efficient: sparkling water and a good selection of home-made bread served first. Being locals we decided to skip the local dishes and try the Mediterranean ones: my friend had the Cod Fish, while I took the Mediterranean Burger (it was pretty big) which was served with fries made out of real potatoes and ketchup on the side. For starters, the menu offered a good choice of tapas. So we decided to go with Spanish meatballs (with 2 pieces of garlic bread on the side).

Dessert was a delightful Hazelnut fondant (brownie) with a scoop of ice-cream which was drizzled with slices of strawberry and berries, and cylinder chocolate on the side. Like its Capella counterpart, Cassia, the prices are not cheap but I feel that it is worth the price (for lunch at least).

Overall, it was an enjoyable and pleasant experience with the Knolls overlooking the main infinity pool and had a nice view of the sea. Despite the humid weather that day, it was a right decision to sit outdoors; a truly unique and memorable dining experience in Singapore.
