Kingston HyperX Cloud Stinger Lucky Pink Auriculares Headphone

Regular headsets for meetings are dull (all black), and the designs are not really my favorite. Moreover, most of the ear pads are not very good for my ears as the padding presses on my ears after while. Those with larger ear cups are either too expensive or too boring in design. It’s work from home so at least I should try and make myself happy working, right?

Looking for any color other than black for a pair of design headsets meant for online meetings was a bit of a challenge: everything was mostly black with a few being white. Yes, they are professional looking, but design wise they were boring to me and it was either the ear cups or the pricing that were an issue: if the design was alright, it was only available in black (mostly), or the price was out of range.

I realized that there was another type of headset – the gaming headset. There are many brands of gaming headsets which look aesthetically pleasing – the reason why they also cost more. With a Razer headset ranging from about $79.90 to $129.90, and they don’t seem to have noise cancelling for the microphone (something that is pretty important to me). So, I decided to search for something a little more cheaper.. and I found a quite a bit of pink headsets and at more adorable / reasonable   prices.

After shortlisting the above, I narrowed it down to 2 sets: the HyperX and the Onikuma. While the Onikuma is cheaper than the HyperX, there are just too many cables for the Onikuma headset (the pretty lights need to be plugged in order to work). The HyperX also seemed a bit more durable and comfortable with its 90-degree rotating ear cups and swivel-to-mute noise-cancellation microphone.

Another addition to my work from home equipment - a nice set of pink headphones.

It is easy to use, just plug and play. I had even gotten feedback that I sounded clearer than normal during my meetings.

Overall, it’s an affordable headset that offer a satisfying performance for the price (to me at least). The ear pads are comfortable. Even with wearing it for more than 1 hour, the pressure on the ears and the head are minimal. The only thing is that it can get a bit warm if you are not in an air-conditioned room, but that’s a small thing.
