What is Shopback?
Shopback is a Singapore-based ecommerce company which was founded in April 2014 and their website was launched in September. The company basically rewards you in cashback when you shop via their website. Their clients such as Klook, Qoo10, Deliveroo, Foodpanda, Expedia, pay the company (Shopback) money for every successful purchase/referral. In turn, Shopback takes that money and passes a portion of it on to their users. Who wouldn’t feel happy receiving some additional savings?
Though I had heard of it before, I had not used it before until my friend sent me a referral signup link (with $5 cashback) and I figured why not give it a try since I already do online shopping with the vendors available on Shopback.

Using Shopback
After signing up, the rest is pretty easy to do. For the mobile app, any link you click within the app will link you to the vendor (e.g. Foodpanda, Qoo10) so it ensures that your shopping will be tracked. On the computer, you would need to ensure that you are not opening multiple tabs and use the popup that opened from Shopback to ensure that your shopping is tracked.
So far, depending on the vendors, the confirmation of cashback takes an average of 3 months (it could be faster, Qoo10 takes about a week).
If you already do shopping on shops such as Qoo10, Lazada, or Tabao, then signing up for Shopback and getting a little cashback is like icing on the cake. So far, I have already accumulated about $53 and cashed out about $38. That’s from about 8 months of usage for my usual online activities. It might not be much but every little cent count.
There is the option to cash out to either your bank account or Paypal account. The minimum amount has to be $10 before you can cash out for both cash out options. Linking to your bank account or PayPal Account is easy and the money gets transferred within 3 working days.
If you have the mobile app installed, you can also use Shopback offline and get cashback. All you need to do is link your credit card to Shopback GO (within the Shopback app) and use that credit card to make purchases at the vendors listed on Shopback GO.
