Eiffel Tower

What is a trip to Paris without visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower? So off it was to the Eiffel Tower! As where we stayed was within walking distance (my relative’s house), we walked to the Eiffel Tower on a cool summer afternoon from the Paris Louvre Museum. The weather isn’t that much different from Singapore, perhaps slightly cooler, but when the wind blows it is very cold.

The crowd was manageable and there wasn’t that much of a queue, it was fast moving. The elevator was fast and we reached the top soon enough. There are 3 levels for visitors, with the first 2 being accessible via the stairs (or elevator), while the 3rd level can only be accessed via the elevator. After purchasing the tickets on site, stairs did not look inviting at all, so the elevator it was. We took the elevator upwards to the top of the tower and as well as down. ^^

The tower had binoculars at the top, which allows visitors to have closer view of the city from the top. We stayed a couple of hours, perhaps half a day at the Eiffel Tower. There wasn’t much to buy as the souvenirs were a tad over priced and we weren’t that hungry, but we did have some ice cream when we finished the tour at the base of the tower.
