Everland Resort is a theme park in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do province, South Korea, which is approximately a 2 hour travel from Seoul.

How could we not visit
Everland this trip, especially when we have so many people with us this time round? After much consideration, M concluded that she was too tired to go to
Everland and wanted to go explore on her own, so only the 4 of us went to
Everland one early (ok not so early, by the time we left out
AirBnb accommodation, it was about 10am) morning. Being the excited bunch that we were, we had breakfast on the go: kimbap (rice rolls) on our way to the subway station.
There are 2 ways in which you can get to Everland:
- Take the subway to Gangnam Exit 10, walk straight until you arrive at the bus stop in front of "WHO.A.U" and take bus #5002. One way ticket is 2100 won. You can use your T-money card. Once you arrive, you have to take a complimentary shuttle to Everland.
OR
- Take the subway (and transfer about 4 times - Gyeongbokgung (Line 3) > Gangnam (Line 2) > Jeongja (Shinbundang Line) > Giheung (Bundang Line) > Jeondae Everland (Everline) and take the Everline straight to the door step of the shuttle bus which will bring you to Everland. We decided to take the subway route all the way, just so to ensure that we had our seats. The journey took us approximately about 1 hour 30 min. If you take the bus option, your might have to jostle with the crowd and stand throughout a 45 minute bus ride. It might have been the excitement, but the 2 hours journey was not in the least tiring nor did it seem long to us; everything was like an adventure!
When we finally arrived at the final stop -
Jeondae Everland - the signs of autumn were already showing: it was the area with the most prominent autumn foliage, other than
Changdeokgung Palace. Anyways, we followed the crowd to board a free shuttle bus that would take us to
Everland.

Tip: Remember to bring a printed copy of the Everland discount coupon for foreigners and present it at the ticketing counter to purchase the tickets at 32,000 won (approximately S$38) per adult instead of the usual price of 40,000 won.
The park is divided into
5 zones with their own distinct themes:
- Zoo-Topia: the place to be if you love animals and want to be a little closer to them
- European Adventure: thrilling rides and mind-blowing simulations await for you here
- Global Fair
- Magic Land
- American Adventure: for the adventure seekers, where thrilling rides and mind-blowing simulations await for you here as well
As soon as we entered the theme park, we were greeted with Halloween decor (which could have been pretty cool, but I am not really that into Halloween). Anyways, our first order of business was to visit
Zoo-Topia, where we wanted to take the animal ride. It was close to lunch time, but we were too excited and literally survived on snacks throughout our time at the theme park. It was also here that I discovered a new found love, ok make that two loves.... churros and grilled dried squid with peanut butter!!

Tip: There are snack kiosks selling drinks and food at every corner, so you do not need to worry that you’ll starve. In addition, there are restaurants at each of the 5 major zones which serve all kinds of cuisine from burgers and pork katsu curry to bulgogi and fried noodles.

Zoo-Topia was just like a mini zoo, with all kinds of animal enclosures (even shows!) - from birds, to primates and aquatic.

After exploring the animal enclosures, we finally found our way to where the rides where to take place. The wait was about and hour! But it was worth the wait since we got to see (most of) the animals up-close. According to C, we might have gotten on the wrong ride, as she remembered there was one where guests would get to actually feed the animals (even more) up-close and personal. Regardless, it was still an enjoyable ride.

| There was this group of giraffes that were nonchalant when the guide was handing out 'free' food to tempt them to come over. Of my limited Korean, the guide gave up & called the giraffes, 노나 (big sisters) to please give him some 'face' and come over.... |

Once the ride was over, we wanted to take on the notorious
T-Express, but it was almost turning dark and the Halloween theme was not helping (with the bravery lol). Not to mention the weather was really cold and dry that day, so much so that my contact lenses were about to drop out!

Well, we were (still somewhat) determined to sit on a ride and so we settled on the
Hurricane... and boy was it one hurricane of a ride!

By the time we were done with the ride it was about 8 at night and we were hungry and tired. We actually wanted to stay on to watch the fireworks (at about 9pm), but the tiredness and cold soon kicked in and we decided to call it a day. But not before spending some time at the souvenir shops to see if there was anything we could buy back for memories sake.
There was still so much more that we did not explore, but no worries... there will always be a next time! And when that time comes.... T-Express... we will conquer you!
